Im in the farket for a revolver, id really like a 327 federal with long barrel but theres not much out there.(only thing holding my interest is sp101 4" 327). Im thinking about getting a 357 mag anyway. Been to a few of the shops looking. I really like the 686 with 5" pro series barrel. Slimmer and small looking and lighter to carry around even though i want a long barrel. I dont do the personal defense stuff. Just a good gun to carry and use in the field. I think id buy i 6" barreled pro series in a min.
Whats your opinions on 5" pro series vs 6" 686+ vs 627 scandium 5"?
I prefer the styling of the pro series by far, and the black scandium kind of turns me off.
Im not finding much in the ways of accuracy test of the three.

Does S&W add new guns often? WHat about the Performance center? I usually buy target guns i just dont need to carry all that weight around.

Welcome to the forum. Just a suggestion -- proof-read. I am sure if you tried to read your own post you too would be confused. It is hard to follow when there is a mistake in grammar, punctuation, or spelling every four or five words.

Anyway, for a field gun, I'd stay away from the super light scandium frame guns unless minimizing weight is a main consideration for you -- they are very unpleasant to shoot. Stick with steel. Anything 4" to 6" barrel would do fine. By the way, while the Performance Center guns are nice, I have never found them to be really worth the extra bucks. I buy from the regular line of guns and have been more than happy with them. In terms of accuracy, all these S&W revolvers do very well.

The S&W M686 SSR is a very nice Pro model.
Unlike most 686's these days, it is a six shooter with a 4 inch barrel.
The front sights are interchangeable without tools. A nice feature.
It has the slab sided barrel with a tapered underlug.

Best,
Rick
