I was a little apprehensive at first, after dropping off my 686-3 with the gunsmith at the local range, for a trigger job to lighten the factory double action (DA) pull a little. Relieved by the LEO turned gunsmith's experience at having been issued a 686 service revolver earlier in his career, he seemed both knowledgable and excited to have the opportunity to help with this respected revolver.
Still, I couldn't help being a little nervous about it. My wife told me to stop worrying about it, since I had already made the decision.
When I dropped it off, he told me it would likely be a week or longer if he had to order parts. The next day at noon, he called to let me know it was done, to my surprise, and I drove the 25 miles to pick it up a couple hours later. When I tried it out at the range, I could not believe the improvement in my double action shooting. It is truely remarkable, with lots of o's in 'smoooooth'.
After reading lots of different threads on this forum about proper trigger jobs, I am pleased to report that this one is like goldy locks and the three bears. Not too hot, not too cold, just right! Man am I happy. It's awesome.
Thanks,
Oldgun
