6906 Mag Questions

Hello Everyone,

I have a question for the Smith 6906. I have used the search and I came up with different answers for the same question. I want to use the 59 Series 9mm 15rd blue Mec-Gar mags in this pistol. I have read here in a post that the Mec-Gar mags will not work and I only can use OEM Smith mags. Is that true as other post say it is ok to use the Mec-Gar mags? I just want to make sure I got this all figured out before I make my order.

The mags will work, what doesn't is the "plus 2" adaptor to fill out the grip if you want. The adaptor only works with S&W 5900 mags.

I will then be buying the S&W mags then Not the Mec-Gar mags.

for an explaination on the mags, S&W is like

I_ _I on the botton, and MecGar is like

_I I_

The floorplate lip is internal on the S&W, and external on the MecGar. MecGar's OEM KelTec P-11 mags, which are interchangeable with 59/69 series S&W mags, are like this as well. It's just how MecGar makes them.
