4013, and 4013TSW. Based on the 6906, in .40.

I don't think they did a 4016......but they should have.

If you have the discetionary dollars hanging around, get the PC Shorty 40.

They made that one in three runs with different flavors. Sweet shooting compact 40 with a Briley bushing. Looks like a 6906 on steroids. Regards 18DAI.

I was thinking 4013 but wanted to make sure. I'm torn as to what to get next...I want a small .40, but I also want a full-size 9mm to compliment my 6906. On top of that I want a short-barrelled K frame. I need to start watering the money tree out back as it dried up a long time ago :D

There are smaller S&W pistols in 40.

The original 4013 was the size of a 4516 and was a single stack 40, 8+1 IIRC.

The 4014 was the blue version. The 4040PD was a 3913 sized pistol in scandium frame, with a black finish. All very nice handguns.

Of course since you mentioned it, you should obviously buy the Snubby model 19 first as all other handguns pale in comparison ;) Regards 18DAI.

The full-size version of the 6906 in 9mm is the 5906, I have one and absolutely love it--especially with Crimson Trace Lasergrips. It is nice that the mags are interchangeable between the two guns. If I finally decide to carry full time, I will be adding a 6906 to my collection.

The early 4013TSW/4053TSW pre-rail models and the PC Shorty-Fortys share the most in common with the 6906. As said earlier the non-TSW models were on a slighty larger single stack compact 45 frame.

I am in the market for a CS40. I own a CS45 and absolutely love it. No jams, compact and lightweight. It needs to have a .40 caliber brother to keep it company in the safe! These 3rd Generation S&W are works of art. Hence the pursuit of these fine firearms will be an addicitive sport.

It really is a shame S&W discontinued that model as well as the CS45 and CS9. It seems that LNIB or NIB are selling for approximately $600. I believe when S&W offered them they were selling for MSRP for $850.

If I had excess cash I would even buy the shorty 40. What a work of art. The first time I saw the firearm was at a gun show in NY. It was in excellent condition and the seller wanted $1,000. A little out of my budget since I paid purchased my CS45 for $350. Where there is one deal, there are others.

Jetpilot007,
there is a CS40 in a pawn shop here in Montana, If you would like I can check and see if it is still around, Think they were asking-450/500 for it. Was in very nice condition. Can't remember if it had the box or not, but am thinking not.

saw this neat gun on summitgunbroker.com. It is the Smith & Wesson 4053TSW, don't know much about it other than it is .40 s&w and appears to be double action only. Asking price is $369!

I have a 4013 points and shoots well. But the .40 is a bit snappy in an alloy gun that doesn't have mass to absorb the recoil. I still love to shoot it.

I'm used to shooting it in a Glock 27 so I think I'll be ok. I just got the new flyer from SOG yesterday and they have 3 different models of DAO S&W .40 pistols...now I just need some money :D
