I have a like new, unfired, 6906, in the box with 3 magazines, that I'm considering selling. What would be a reasonable asking price?

ADDED: I found the original receipt from 2009 in the box. I had initially paid around $450 for the gun. This was from Michigan Police Equipment which normally had better prices that a typical gun store.

$225,,,,,,, OK $250 with the 3 mags.

Edit: was just funn'in. $250 is what I paid for my last 6904 w/ 3 mags. about 10 years ago. Guessing that the Shop doubled it's money on the trade in value they gave!

Recognized it as a slow mover...... but knew I'd be a buyer!

This was a year ago at Sportsmans Warehouse. No box or anything, and the mag was rusty but functional.

I'm not sure what the current demand is for these. People here like them, but the public at large has gone polymer.

In the box with 3 mags, I think you could get 400 plus.

I paid $300 for an early version 6906 that had been used and its appearance indicated it was a daily carry piece for quite a while, two magazines, no documents or cleaning tool, but the correct and matching serial number tattered box, but that was shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent jump in firearms/ammo prices and then inflation. I don't think there is much collector interest in the compact 9mm pistols, but for one that is NIB, with two spare mags and documents, I'd say it would sell for nothing less than $500. The limiting factors with these pistols is no factory warranty, it's getting harder to find holsters for them, and most people want a light weight, plastic pistol for carry.

You can occasionally find a bunch of surplus well used 6906 in the $300 range, but that is meaningless in my mind relative to your question. a LNIB 6906 with 3 mags would typically be at least $500, possibly 600 depending on exact condition, buyer, and other details (shipping cost, taxes, etc). If selling put it in classifieds below. (No sales in this setcion)

For 3rd Gens, value is about condition and to an extent location. In a state without silly rosters or magazine restrictions a gun with standard capacity magazines is worth more than in a state without silly restrictions.

ANIB with three magazines is going to be at least a $450.00 gun, but in MA where I live it would likely go for closer to $550.00. You can't buy a 12 round magazine here unless it was made before when the original magazine ban was passed by the US Congress.

When selling, you can always lower the price if it's too high. You can not raise the price if you suddenly realize it's too low.

Oh, luck plays into it. I bought an ANIB 6946 with two magazines for $325.00 including tax from a FFL. The owner knows 3rd Gens pretty well and I've bought a few from him. Either he hadn't had his coffee that morning or he had one of his staff price it. ;)

I think stannsdd might have meant double stack compacts don't have much collector interest, because the single stack compacts sure do.

The single stack compact 9's have an almost cult-like following and they do command a higher price for any given condition than the much more commonly seen 69xx pistols.

In the DFW area that gun would sell quickly in the $550 to $600 range. Most anything that isn't plastic sells quickly.

If I were selling a LNIB 6906, I'd list it here for $550. More than that might be tough.

S&H plus FFL fees at the buyer's end would have to price tag over $600. I might consider absorbing some of the S&H to make the sale.

I guessed that was what you meant based on reading your posts in the past.

I like "cult like following", now if you'll excuse me I have to fondle my 3913TSW. Or maybe my 3914DAO. ;)

I bought my like new 6906 at a gun show in the last year. Seller was not all that knowledgeable about guns. He was asking $ 600 with 2 mags and no box. Eventually he sold it to me for $ 500. There was very little interest in it at this medium sized gun show.

I own three first one was $400 at a pawn shop with one mag and no box. Second $440 was a police trade in, but came with 6 or 7 mags. Third one was $375 out the door. Something as nice as your $500-$600 like others have said.

Google:
$450 in 2009 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $622.54 today, an increase of $172.54 over 14 years. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.35% per year between 2009 and today, producing a cumulative price increase of 38.34%.

Your 6906 has the round trigger guard and Novak sights, both of which seem to be desired by most enthusiasts. The 3rd magazine is a nice bonus.

Maybe $650 shipped and see what happens?

Todd
