6926 Info and Value?

Just picked up a nice 6926 but can't find much info about it.
There was a completed auction on Gunbroker at over $1600, saw one site with values but can't find much else.
I guess they were all made in 1991 but can't find any production quantities.
What do y'all know about them?

I picked up one this week. Does not have the dots so I guess I will calling the factory.
When you use the frame decocker, the hammer drops to half cock. Is this correct on these? Looks weird that the hammer is not flush when decocked.

I wouldn't volunteer the information to S&W that it's a surplus pistol - they may not honor the recall.

I recently called S&W regarding a 639 purchased used and not previously serviced under the recall. Customer service asked if I was the original owner, said they would honor the recall but not the original warranty. They sent me a prepaid return label. Sent it in October 15 and don't have it back yet.

Just my opinion, but I think S&W would rather fix problem firearms than risk a lawsuit.

S&W began their warranty in 1989 and a 639 would never have had that warranty. A 6926 would have.
