I have enough to keep my AK from running dry, but I figured since "The Sportsman's Guide" still had some Wolf ammo at a decent price in January I'd go ahead and buy a little more...

Well, they said it was backordered until the end of February, which suited me fine...but, now they say it's backordered until October...what gives???? Has the federal gov't temporarily banned 7.62 X 39 from being imported??? Are suppliers just selling it in markets where they make a bigger profit??? Or, maybe it's just The Sportsman's Guide folks having troubles???

Any thoughts, conspiracy theories, rumors, etc. welcome :D...

What do you guys know or what have you been hearing and seeing out there??

Let's keep it clean though and w/in Forum rules, please...

Just sold 300 rds of Russian HP's to a guy for 100 bucks.
Got rid of my Norinco AK.
Trying to consolidate calibers a little.... I'm having trouble
with that project though.

All i know is just as all this "ban the guns" stuff started. I bought several 1000 round cases for for $270 a piece. Of course thats the wolf steel case 124gr ammo. I told my ole lady I wanted to buy all the 7.62 i could because one day when .223 wasnt available, people would start looking for 7.62. Im glad i made my decision, as now im sitting more than comfortably with my AK rounds.

Walmart gets it in regularly. Only problem is 60 rounds at a time sucks

good to hear...thanks for the Wally World report :)

and I am glad to hear some 7.62 X 39 is leaking out in some spots...

Its like everything else. Lasts a few minutes when available at online distributors

Check SGAmmo in the early afternoon till about 7 pm. I've managed to pick up 400 rounds of Golden Tiger lately for $119.90. They only sell 200 at a time at $59.95 so I've gotten lucky twice. Wallyworld has been having some too.

My local store has 2 or 3 cases. The basic Tula at $6.50 per box of 20 and brass cased is something like $9.00 per 20 round box.

There's probably AK ammo in the world than any other military rifle round. Can't they just import more??

They can but some countries we font import from anymore and others dont sell.

All the LGSs around me have it. Standard Tula/wolf and Yugo surplus 15 round boxes. Avg $8/box

Las week SGammo had Golden Tiger cases and i think it was sold out within 1/2 a day

Thousands of rounds for sale on GB if you must have it now. Buy just
enough to tide you over until sanity returns, whenever that might be.

$8/15? YIKES! Glad I've been panic buying for four years. Got a Mini-30 that likes the brass stuff. $8/15 is almost as much as commercial stuff.

I got super lucky and jumped on 1K rounds of the last of the pre panic stuff in January at $.30/round.

Came across the old invoice for this bad boy. $200 delivered. I fear we may have seen the last of these. :(

I still have an ammo can full of some off brand stuff I bought back in the 80's for a dime a round. I think the boxes say "Norinco" or something.:D

Wish I'd bought a few more. It's still sealed and part of my "untouchable" stash. I see guys selling 'em for $500-$600 dollars...

Oh well... it was "gone" before so you never know...

Oh me too. That along with x54 and 5.45. There were times i was couldnt part with my money. I'd see a tin or a crate and want to buy but in the back pf my mind i was saying "save that money". Theres a fine line between buying ammo and saving $
