8 shot revolver thread...

Here's my 27-7 that was custom built by S&W Performance Center for Bangers in 2000.

Mine is #84 of the 100 with 6.5" barrels produced.

The 27-7 also has the distinction of being the only 8-shot Model 27 ever made without "The Lock".

Some very nice examples listed in this thread. Here's a pair of my most recent 8- shooters.
5" 627-3 and 4" 27-7
Both are low round/low mileage.

I got my 27-7 from my brother. I read a post here in the forum where he commented that he never fired his in the hopes to one day trade it for a 4" 27-7.

As you can see that never happened. I'm more than happy with it having the 6 1/2" barrel.

Another fan of the 627PC. It's my only remaining Smith with the superfluous belly button - even with its birth defect I still
love it. The trigger is soooo smooth. To my mind, the 8-shot cylinder is the most meaningful and practical improvement to the N frame revolver world in the past 80 years.

8 shot revolvers

i like what you did with the "pinto" look CH4. looks sharp.

kind of takes your eye off the belly button with the extra detail going on.

8 shot revolver thread

I love all of the photos posted so far.

Here's the one and only 8 shot in my collection.

this one happens to be the first serial numbered 2 5/8" 627 off the production line. HMA0001

Three batches of the pre lock 627's were manufactured with the
2 5/8" barrel.

the first batch had the pre fix HMA, the second MCD and the last batch was JBS.

Here is the letter I requested from Earl at Lew Horton.

Thanks

I was getting tired of the increasing holster wear to the matte finish on the cylinder, so I sent the cylinder, ejector rod and Ed Brown cylinder release to my buddy at H and M black nitriding. I also like the pinto look.
