915 question

I paid $100 more two years ago, only difference was a box with manual, also in great shape.

Sounds like a good deal for you.

Dave

Not sure what you mean by "good shape," but if it is 95% or so, then that's a very fair deal. The 915 was only made for a couple of years (1992-94, I believe), and from all indications on this Forum, the owners (including me) are pleased with them.

Ahhhh . . . the Model 915. One of the most underrated of the 3rd generatiion pistols. This was the first of the Economy S&W automatics. Unlike the later Value Line pistols (including the Model 910), it has no plastic parts, nor is the slide squared-off in appearance. I love the one I found on consignment at one of my local gun shops five years ago.

915s are great guns. I would be a buyer at that price if condition was right.

$275 is a pretty good deal on a good 915. Whats more, that is about the most gun you will ever get for $275. The 915 is a very under valued hand gun, given the excellent quality and the capacity of it.

Glad I read this post. I bought a 915 with 5 magazines (no box or papers) in at least 95% two years ago. Three of the factory mags had never been used. Paid $300. for it and the mags. Stuck it in my safe and only pulled it out to check it, wipe it down, and wonder why I bought it.
Got it out last week with a couple of other Smiths and a Colt Officers Model that had been worked over for Bull's Eye shooting.
Loaded them up last week and went to my LGS to do some trading and the owner was out sick, so I decided to wait until he got back to work. Been busy since and just read a couple of posts about 2 of the Sniths I was going to trade off. Now I wondering why I want to trade some nice steel and wood 1st and 3rd generations models for a poly, aluminum, and steel model I already have one of. You guys gave me a dose of reality. My babies are going back in the safe except for the Colt and I am going to pull out a couple of current production Smiths that are hard to find hold them out for a week, ride them around looking for something I just got to have, maybe. Who knows.

mickey! You bought that 915, right? Pictures please. :)

I just bought one in what appears to be unfired condition. No box/papers, one mag, $350.00 shipped to my FFL. I thought that was an awesome deal so yours I would rate as outstanding.

Well I was not going to but you guys have talked me into it.The FFL is going to be $50 and $10 for the PD and about $25 in diesel with all the driving. here is a picture of it. I hope its worth.$325.

I figure any gun I would have to get a purchase doc and drive for.

If the 915 lives up to its photo, I think you'll be happy with the price. The gun's an unsung value just waiting to be shot. Let us know.

Mickeyblueeyes has decided to pass on the 915. It is mine and have another local buyer for it. Here are pic's.
