I have a 940-1 that has developed some light strikes, I bought it used so I want to restore the springs to factory standard, I have new springs but I am having issues removing the external cross pin, firing pin retaining pin. Is this a directional pin? tapered? what is the trick? HELP!

I'm pretty sure it's a straight pin, so I'd try driving it left to right to remove. You may need an extra-short punch for domed-head pins, to get it started. I think I ordered one from Brownells, but I do not have access to my tools, or my 940, right now. Proceed with all due caution.
