Hey all, I want to know what everyone thinks is a fair price to sell my 9c for? I want to switch to a different model but my local gun shop only offered me $200 which I feel is extremely low? I may try to sell as private party but not sure what I should list for?

Depending of condition of course if it is well maintained, I've seen it go from 350-400.

I paid $400 to a friend.. but it was a kit with extra mags too.

Thnks for the replies, it is in excellent condition, pretty much sat in my safe for 3 years. If I were to guess maybe 300 rnds through it.

I'd be a buyer at $300, less so at $350. Gun shop has to make a profit so $200 to $250 to you seems about right. Plus there are other very good choices out there that you can buy new in that price range like the Canik or Shield. In addition, in the current political environment, prices look to be falling. And don't forget about any shipping and ffl costs that may apply and affect the cost in a private sale.

That might be a little low if condition were mint. Not so much if it's got holster rash or other understandable issues.

Remember that the gun shop has to bring the gun into their books ,resell the gun AND guarantee it ( and make make a profit.). That used gun, when sold, may also be in place of a new one they already have in stock.
Bottom line: Most shops I've worked with offer 55% blue book on a flat buy , 65% on a trade. ( Again, condition is EVERYTHING) As an alternative, many will consign the gun and sell it for you at 15-20% of the sales price.

last year when i got my PC Shield, i wanted to trade my 9c in on it (bought the 9c used for a great price, i put 1500 rounds thru it). I have not sold a gun private party and frankly wasn't comfortable doing so.
Had one area store only value the trade at $190, the other $290. And with the PC on sale at the time, saving sales tax (pay it on the difference) and piece of mind for me, that 2nd price worked well.

But if it truly had been worth just the $190 or so or so i'd have just kept the compact.

Maybe the OP can do better if he puts in his time and effort and can find someone to give him what he wants locally. I think it's a buyers market right now though.

Brand new ones are going for $400 (unless you're in CA).

Used is used.

I suggest you check out Gunbroker for closing auctions.

Extra mags, functioning night sights help. Magazine safety, thumb safety may or may not.

When was your 9C made? Older models have the older gen trigger bars, slide locks.

At almost every gun shop (at least in my area) $200 seems to be the standard price offered, no matter the gun, or its condition! It's insulting sometimes. I would not take a cent under $325.

Used sell here for around $350 unless it's beat up bad. So $250 -$275 would be about the going rate for a trade in depending on how well they actually sell.

Thanks all for the replies, gonna try to sell it privately and see how the offers go.

I bought a used 9c for $325 OTD in December at a LGS in Central, Ohio. Included; 2 mags, box, & papers.

Since then I've seen two 9c for $300 asking at LGS's!

The price will likely fall again when the 9c 2.0 hits the stores. They have said they are coming, just not when from what I have seen.

The used M&Ps I've seen sell on GB lately were LE trades and closed in the in the 275-325 dollar range.
The 9c I have was bought brand new with 2 mags and factory box and papers off of a GB seller in 2015 for $300.77 plus the ride which added another $50. It was new production, not old stock.
Prices on used current production service-type pistols are only going down.

I picked up a used (NRA Excellent) M&P9C with 3 mags, an Apex FS trigger kit, and Warren Tactical night sights for $410. I also purchased a new one from an LE dealer for $355 with factory night sights and 3 mags. I see used factory stock 9C's selling locally for $325-350.
