The 59XX series pistols are 9mm, the 40XX series pistols are .40 S&W. Doesn't matter if they're TSW models or not.

They do look a lot alike, but there are major differences in the slide and the machining for the barrel unlocking lugs in the frame and on the barrel.

so its no longer a 4006TSW for the 40 cal.

the 40 sw and 9mm casings are not the same size. a 40 caliber round will not chamber in a 9mm gun. a 9mm round will chamber in a 40 caliber gun, but it wont head space correctly and the case might expand to the point where it splits. the extractor will probably slip by. I would not do it to my gun.

I clicked on the tech specs of Houston's link

If it is a 9mm, it is a 59-Series. If it is a .40, it is a 40-Series. They are not interchangeable.

The parts for these two pistols are almost interchangeable, but they will not work when swapped (I wouldn't try it either). As mentioned a 59 series is a 9mm and a 40 series is a 40S&W. The parts are close, but they are different pistols.

Looking at the link Rick posted I see where the confusion came in. "The Tactical series pistols are available in either 9mm or .40...." They're referring to the TSW pistol series, not specific model numbers.

However, as several of us noted, if it's 9mm it's a 59 series, if it's .40 it's a 40 series.

Looking at the tech specs, it appears the guy who posted the specs might not have been entirely correct-unless they're doing a PC version. My 5906 holds 15 +1.
