Everything I found for 9mm was on auction sites, and seriously expensive. I'm working with a custom mould maker to see if I can get a bullet mould made that will please me. I'm half tempted to sell the 9mm & get something I already cast for, like another 45 ACP. Brass & primers aren't a problem for me at this point.

It's pretty much slim pickin's everywhere. I ordered 1000 9mm LRNS and am in line for the 3-4 week waiting period.

Components are starting to come back. At the local yesterday I saw primers, powder and bullets every where. Prices were still high on the primers but its the first time I have seen cases of primers stacked up for some time.

If you use lead Mater cast Bullets in PA can deliver in less than ten days.

Stavman if you need brass I have a few hundred extra I'll send your way. Let me know.

Thanks Buddy... i have plenty of Brass :D its Primers, powder and lead that is a PAIN in the REAR ta find...

Good thing i have plenty of .223 Components..:)

Oh well.. ill try and be Patient

thanks everyone

Nobody I know reloads it because it's not cost-effective.
$10 to $12 for 50 factory-loaded (FMJ) rounds is pretty cheap. Is this because you just can't get 9mm where you live?

Only 9mm bullets I've been able to find are premium; Hornady 124 grain XTP at $25/100. I've been looking for plain 124 grain FMJ (roundnose or flatpoint) with no success. BTW, I found Remington 115 grain JHP on sale at my LGS for $50/50; this was the same stuff that was on sale at Wal-Mart six months ago for $20.

Where are you finding 9mm at those prices? $15 seems to be the best that can be found around here (Phoenix area) if you can find it (unless you get very lucky at Walmart).

Even so, I can still reload 9mm for a lot less than $10-12 per 50.

As far as where to find components, you have to be persistent, look on-line and at gun shows. I just got 5000 primers from Midway, but they sold out fast. Got powder at a show, price not too bad. Bullets are hardest to get, I'm waiting for a backorder to ship. I have brass from range pickup and shooting factory loads.

The only stuff for sale is on the black market. Waste of time/gas looking anywhere else for the present.

I can make SD quality JHP ammunition tailored for performance in my 9mm for about $8 a box.

It ain't always about saving a buck. Although, as a side effect, it doesn't hurt a bit. And since I've been labeled a 'Prepper, I have enough components to get me through the year. Maybe next year, too.;)

I have used the supplier mentioned by moxie and found their bullets to be acurate although somewhat smokier/messier than some. Not bad though. As far as the costs of reloading 9mm, if you only fire a couple hundred rounds a month then as gm272gs says it's probably not cost effective. However if you shoot a lot it makes a big difference. Reloading with plated bullets from Berry's it was costing me about 6.75 per box of 50. I fire about 7000 rounds a year which is about 140 boxes. Saving between 6.00 and 7.00 per box that's a pretty good savings in my book. I plan to start casting my own soon and that should drop the price even more. Truth be told though, rather than actually saving me money reloading 9mm simply allows me to shoot a heck of a lot more for the same price. Also, since I never actually run out of everything at the same time, the money gets spread out over time. So one month I may need to buy primers, a couple months later I may need powder. Makes it seem like I'm spending less. Using Universal powder it takes very little for my favorite loads and a couple of pounds of it will last quite a while.

I'll second the notion that $10-$12 9mm is from a year ago and not what I've seen lately. I can load 9mm for $7 and have the load I want when I want so for me it's more than just cost.

Of course I enjoy loading and do so for all my firearms. Growing up with Dad I don't think I shot a factory load until I was in the Marine Corp...

I took my 15 year old brother in-law to "check out some hunting bows". The store we went to had no reloading supplies. Dang, I'm down to just a few hundred primers too.

I have been patient, buying holsters, range bags and other more available accessories. Sooner or latter I'm gonna need more ammo or reloading supplies...

i ordered 500 berry plated bullets from dillon precision yesterday for like 50 bucks they wearnt on backorder try them, great company
