After hearing good things about this gun (M&P Shield 9mm EZ) from my sister, daughter and a long time friend that suffers from arthritis, I bought one to see if my wife could/would shoot it. (She does not know about it yet.) Took it to the range today and fired 77 trouble free rounds thru it. Mixed factory 115gr. & 124gr home loads in FMJ and coated lead. This gun is a pure pleasure to shoot. Next range trip will include some self defense ammo. If all is well, then I will see if my better half will shoot and like it. If not, I have another gun that I enjoy shooting.

I have both a EZ 380 and a EZ 9 for the time my arthritis says I just can't rack them any more.

But that might be a while. I won't even turn 74 for another three months. :D

Seriously, some of my guns are a lot harder to rack than they used to be. But, my eyes help that a lot. The red dots I put on a lot of pistols make them easier to rack. :D:D:D

I have the Hellcat and just picked up my Shield EZ last week and promptly took it to the local gun club. Easy to rack, enjoy the ease of loading and overall a pleasure to shoot. Not near as 'jumpy' as the Hellcat.

I like my 9mm EZ. Only thing I have to do is file down the front sight as it shoots way low. Too bad S&W won't warranty where it shoots.

I like my 9mm EZ also. I was able to locate 2 extra Magazines for mine. I located them at the Rural King store in Benton Il. I have been looking for extra magazines. Every since I bought my EZ9 in January of 2020. I found the magazines at the same sore I purchased my 9mmEZ at.

What ammo, what distance?
Mine also shoots about 1" low at 10 yards with the ammo I use. (Home loads)

What do you know and I thought that I was the only one. I've had tight groupings, but most low and to the left. Gonna tweak my aim at the gun club this weekend and report back.

I have a S&W M&P380 Shield EZ that was shipped from the factory on September 19, 2018 and purchased new on October 13th of that same year.

It's had hundreds of rounds fired through it, and many of those rounds were fired by women and small children. So far, it's been 100% reliable, regardless of who was firing it. The gun is very accurate and the trigger is the best.

If there's some way to improve on this model, I don't know what it would be. It's definitely my favorite 380 ACP handgun.

I picked my EZ 9 up because I couldn't rack the slide on my older autos. I've had no troubles with it and it's shot everything I've tried including some of my weak reloads.

I picked up a few extra magazines and carry with 2 extra mags on my belt.

Not saying it's true in your case, but the first thing that comes to mind when I hear "Shoots low left" is poor trigger technique. Just for giggles, unload the gun, point it at a small target, align the sights, concentrate on the front sight, pull the trigger through and watch what direction the front sight goes. I'd bet you at least a cup of coffee and a doughnut that it'll go low left...

And trust me, it happens to some very accomplished shooters, especially guys who are mostly 1911-and-similar-single-action pistols. I know the EZ is classed as single-action, but it's different enough to lead to the same problem people have with "safe-action" DA-only guns like the Glock for some folks, and can happen with a 1911, too.

I suspect most shooters with a new pistol shoot low and left.( right handed) For me shooting is all about technique. I didn't say all shooters.!!

I always start out shooting low/left with a new gun that is light or has a heavy trigger.

My Gen5 G43X is a lot harder to rack than my Gen4 G17 which I blame on the gun not my 70+. :)

BUT my favorite Glock retailer in San Diego had the solution .

Absolute bear to install so I had them do it but what a difference!

If your 9mm EZ is shooting low, please do this before you file your front sight down!
Bench rest the gun. 10 yards. Shoot 5 rounds by lining up the top of your front sight with the top of your rear sight.
Shoot 5 rounds by lining up the three dots as in pic #1.
Pic #2 is with top of sights aligned.
Pic #3 is with dots aligned.
Front dot is miss drilled.
I painted my front sight in yellow and covered two rear sight dots with flat black Testor's model paint (pic#4).
Pic#5 is my 9mm in a Vedder kydex holster. AIWB

Wow. My friend just paid $5?? for his EZ 9mm at LGS. I bought my step daughter the .380 for Christmas, not sure if she's shot it yet. They had some kind of recall on both, made between 2 specific dates; hers was made just a few days past the recall. I'd like to shoot it, and I know I'll be shooting Jim's sometime soon. Since I just had my left shoulder operated on I've been carrying the Walther .380. I can rack it with one hand. These don't stay on the shelves long, either caliber EZ. Jimmy yelled at me, sorta, because I didn't tell him about the EZ line! He's a year younger than me at 63 but 30+ years of doing pneumatic HVAC controls has his fingers all arthriticized! (He was at camp this weekend past so I'll get a range report today.) May be my next gun in 9mm.

RKGuns = Rural King shows the 9mmEZ @ $449.99 & the 380EZ @ $399.99/$389.97.. ~~~> Handguns : RK Guns
The $359 & $369 price was Good for sure.. They still show as having one of each in stock BTW & Open @ 10:00am.. They have other things we NEED so maybe I should pounce quickly then..
I'll note that it seems that prices have all returned to an inflated normal except for Glocks? & Ammo.. At least around here for now..
I've been carrying the M&P Shield 2.0 9mm or Body Guard 380 & seem to leave my HKs @ Home.. = Much bigger & heavier..
We paid $249.99 for the 2.0 9mm Shield & $400 for the stainless engraved 380 Body Guard..
Only EZ @ $500 I see is an Orchid one on page II @ RK
Wasn't aware of the recall & will look into that before I go out later..
Thanks for That.. IIRC the problem was either a magazine spring or follower that had an issue with the last round not having enough pressure
Or the follower needed scuffing or something like that?? Hmmmm??

I was mistaken on the recall.. Wrong? Maybe?? HaHa.
The recall is for the hammers made 03/1/20 - 10/31/20

Shooting low left? My experience 90% of the time it's the shooter. Caused by a flinch if you're right handed. Nothing to be ashamed of. Happens to all of us on occasion. Let an accomplished shooter try the gun. They will advise where the sights ought to be.

I almost bought one today. 9mm. At least I'm pretty sure it was an EZ 9...440 bucks OTD. But was a bit confused... one had a safety the other didn't. I prefer a gun with a safety. I am going to buy it and probably sell my wife's Kahr. It bites her thumb every now and then. But the S&W is a bit larger. I know....technique! Oh I assume they come with 2 mags? For summer carry I have a Sig 365

EZs where $440 a year back & they all come with two magazines, cardboard box, & a cable lock + manual..
Like others have said the prices have been all over the place..
It's almost like = "As much as they can get"
I never made it out this after noon & it started poring rain so I took a three hour nap instead.. Get Paid Friday the 2nd
Just checked my LGS online inventory & they still have a 380 & 9mm EZ @ $359 & 369
They also have an M&P40 @ $320 + an SD9VE @ $380
As I said before my youngest son wants the 380 + He has six boxes of .380 LAX ammo for his Bodyguard..
He's a big boy & will let him choose.. He's 29 BTW

Here's a problem though, I got the serial # from the 380EZ NFU26** & it is under recall for the hammer.. That's not a deal breaker & might even give me some leverage on a discount..
So as soon as we buy it it'll have to return to the mother ship for repairs..
Today while looking at that stuff I thought of a friend we suggested the M&P EZ too & there's is under recall as well as a Ruger SR9 they bought too.. What?? Both of them recalled from two different manufacturers.. I'll guess there MAK90 is good to go.. + I have a couple boxes of 7.62X39 for him..

Gun prices have always been lower around here thanks to Kiesler's.. Thanks Doug!!

That recall was issued months ago. My LGS would not sell them until they had either been cleared as not being subject to recall or had been repaired.

IOW, I wouldn't feel very good about a LGS that is selling unrepaired recall guns. Where else are they cutting corners on safety?

We bought the 380EZ 2.0 Today & for sure it's under recall, It was used & the price was $335.51 + 7% tax = $359..
They had a new one @ $499.99
Only down side other than the recall was it had only one magazine & no box etc. It's very clean & has maybe a box or two threw it..
I will also note that the magazine seemed very weak so I decided to clean the EZ & found the magazine spring in backwards..
Filled out the recall form & await the mailing label for it's return.
I figure we saved $160+ getting one magazine & the recall..
It'll get inspected & the new parts..
The form said 7-10 days for the return & 1-3 Days on the shipping label..
