I just bought a slightly used 9mm sigma. I have shot it a lot and like it a lot. I just have one question all my other guns when the clip is empty the slide sticks open but my sigma does not do this is this the way it is designed or is this some thing that is not right with the gun if so what could cause this.

It should lock open after the last round. I would try a different magazine and see how that does. Also make sure you are not hitting the slide release with your thumb. I have caught myself doing that a time or two.

I have used both magazines that came with the gun and both do the same thing and i have made sure a count my shots out and made sure i was not doing anything like that.

Does it lock back when you insert an empty magazine and rack the slide or does it only happen when you are actually firing the pistol ?

Welcome to the forum.
What ammo are you shooting out of it? Is it all the same factory brand/bullet weight etc.?
As has been said, it should lock open.

It does not lock back when you slide it back with eiether clip eiether is there supposed to be a finger on the clip slide where it contacts the slide catch or are they suposed to be flush because mine is flush and i shot a alot of different ammo anything from winchester to hornady with no difference

There should be a little shelf on the left side of the magazine follower that engages the slide stop. (red circle)

One of mine did that a few times in the first 100 or so. Hasn't done it again with over 1500 rounds.

Remove your slide and put the slide stop lever back in and see if it's making contact with the mag follower when the mag is placed back in the frame. The lever may be bent or broke where it makes contact with the follower or the mag springs may be weak to where they won't lift it on their own.
