A better approach to fix the Shield 40 Mag Drop!

i listed the dropping mags serial #`s. from another thread, but of course i can`t find it.

My serial # is HPJ6686 and it drops the mags. Time to trade this piece of **** off. Anyone want a good holster for it?

My 40 is an HPExxxx no problems. No mag drops.

There are a couple of topics concerning the mags dropping from the Shield 40 along with many so called fixes, but I believe that this forum could do a great job of helping those that might be considering either not purchasing or to go ahead and purchase the Shield 40 which I own and it performs flawlessly, but mine is one of the earlier weapons. The Serial number is one of the best ways to know what batch of weapons are either affected with the problem or not.

I will start this investigation with the full serial number of my Shield 40 and it is DXT0579! This is a flawless weapon just like the other 5 M&P's that I own!

Well, mine also begins with DXT#### and it had the extended mag drop issue. Sent it back..got the revamped mags and they replaced the mag release/catch mechanism...and got some night sights for my troubles. Has worked flawlessly ever since. So there ya go.

I picked up HPJ6634 that has been fine so far. Ive only run 100 rounds through it but no issues yet.
