I retired from the Sheriffs Department and packed away my last personally owned duty sidearm. Several years later I traded it to my brother in law. This week I got a call from the hospice that he wanted to see me. I went and he gave me back my old duty weapon this S&W model 13-3 4". While I am happy to be reunited with this gun I am saddened at the circumstances by which it has come back to me.

Sorry to hear about your brother in law. I pray that the Lord will comfort you and your family.

I am very sorry for you. The circumstances in which you received your revolver back are very, very difficult and certainly very bittersweet. Your brother-in-law is a special kind of man. To think of you and your kindness to him long ago speaks of a gentleman who will be a fine gentleman until his day is done. I hope that you and he find peace. It seems that he is getting there ok. I hope you and your family will be ok.

Thank you yes my brother in law is a true gentleman. He served as an EWO 1964-1986. His accomplishments include 7000 hours in a B-52, last man out of a B-52 that caught on fire, his ejection seat failed to eject and he had to manually go out of an opening left from another ejection seat. But most importantly being an exceptional grandfather, husband, father and friend.
