Yea it was on the Nightly News tonight. Some kids talking about it being unfair that no women were on paper bills. I forget the lady who got it started but they are doing that White House petition thing now.

Sojourner Truth...her birth name was Isabella Baumfree. she had a hard life from childhood and faced more obstacles than most in that time.
her story is one of courage and perseverance and gets my vote if a change to the currency is forth coming.
 
Annie Oakley comes to mind. But if I were to take it seriously, there are many ladies who have made real sacrifices and contributions to this great nation over the years.
 
Let's leave it alone and stay with Founding Fathers and Presidents.

On the other hand if they really have to have someone let's create a 3 dollar bill and put her on that.
 
A new denomination or...

Do we want a new denomination or replace somebody? I wonder about McKinley and Grover Cleveland. Yeah they were presidents but so were a lot of people. Or Salmon P. Chase. I think Hamilton is deserving because of his role as a founding father, interpreter of the constitution and treasurer.

There are women in great causes but not that many close to the founding fathers or the presidency (at this time) Many are feminists or suffragettes. Some of the great causes involved women such as Clara Barton and Harriet Tubman.

Abigail Adams and Jane Addams shouldn't be ignored.
Neither should Mary McCloud Bethune.

As 'all-around' and practically acting president, Eleanor Roosevelt takes the cake.

Theodore Roosevelt
John Adams

What's new? The "nags" as Rush calls them are always trying to run down men that made history.
 
Andrew Jackson, more than anyone else, was responsible for the "Indian Relocation" aka the Trail of Tears, that claimed the lives of between 3,000 & 6,000 Americans. To this day, a twenty dollar bill has no value to many native Americans. He was not an American Icon. He was a brutal despot. To honor him is an ongoing blemish on the integrity of this nation.
