A couple more law dawgs

S&W model 65 3" marked BRPD (Baton Rouge)
Mod 64 4" bull barrel marked EBRPSO (East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office)
Glock mod 22 Marked NOPD (New Orleans) The serial number is unusual as it starts with NO followed by four numbers and ends in PD. It also is stamped on the slide New Orleans Police Dept. with the half moon and star copy of their badge.
Model 37 Ithaca stamped LSP (Louisiana State Prison) it came from Angola State Prison.
Model 37 Ithaca stamped Cross P.D. on the stock. I still don't know where this one is from.
Model 37 Ithaca with bayonet lug and heat shield marked HPD. Hattiesburg Police Dept. (Mississippi)
S&W SAPD marked S&W model 58 with honest holster wear.

I may have a couple of more. I don't really collect the LEO marked guns, but as mentioned before with over 40 years on duty I have run across a few. I wish I had kept them all.

LEO firearms

I have 3 guns, 2 that are known to have gone to police departments and l that is currently being lettered. All were acquired from SWCA members. The first one is a .38 M&P model of 1905, Fourth Change, shipped 5/10/23 to a hardware company in St Louis, MO stamped on the back strap by S&W "Police Dept. St Louis, MO., No. 350" #2 is a pre model 36 shipped 8/29/52 to George Cake Co, Los Angeles. The shipment was for 24 units marked for the San Bernardino CA police department. #3 is a model 1076 currently being lettered, with a Kentucky State Police logo on the slide. Hopefully it will show some relationship to a police department. The M&P is about 90%, the pre 36 is NIB and the 1076 has been used, also by me.

I have posted these photos before but I just saw this thread so I thought I would add these.

In the mid 80’s, the department started issuing these model 66 revolvers to Troopers who shot Distinguished Expert. Even though they were .357’s Troopers were required to carry .38 special ammo.

A few years after they started issuing these model 66 .357s, they changed to the model 67 because they were worried that Troopers were carrying .357 ammo against orders in their model 66 revolvers.

When my daughter retired from the Michigan State Police, she gave me this model 67-1 (never to be sold).

Trooper Joe

Neat stuff...
I have come to a standstill on this old lizzard....

I have, I think, five.

A 66-1 engraved KHP for Kansas Highway Patrol.

A 4” Model 10-? HB with an inventory or badge number.

Two 4” Model 65s with inventory or badge numbers.

Another 4” Model 65 that had enough finish wear the logical conclusion is that it was an issued weapon.

ETA photos. Oddly, no phots of the Model 10 on my phone. The 65s photographs were all taken after a bunch of elbow grease was expended cleaning them up and polishing out much of the finish wear and tear.

CPD M66 and CHP M18-3

I have an M66 No Dash and an M18-3 that both have law enforcement experience.
I don't know the history of the Model 66, but the 18-3 was a trainer for Colorado State Patrol. The gentleman who sold it to the LGS was a retired Trooper, who bought it from CSP, when they discontinued revolver use.

S&W model ten I bought while up on Long Island, old Colt Trooper III, and possibily two Remington 870 shotguns. O ne has a 18" barrel and the other has a 20 " barrel. none of them has any police markings. Just a hunch. Frank

I have collected LE firearms for over 40 years. Here are some of them.

All carried/used at one time or another by --------ME.

Many more but these are the most interesting. One rainy day I am going to put all my old carry guns together. Lots of changes over the years...

I have one I bought as a project gun. It's a Model 64 that started life as a 4" gun. Outside was a bit rough but the action was great. Had my local smith swap the barrel for a 3" he had, round the butt, bead blast it and give it a light duty tune. Came out pretty nice.

A lot of nice LE pieces!

I only have one department issued gun, a 5” FHP 27-2, the rest are personal guns carried by me and or my dad during our careers.

I guess if this post is going to keep going, I’ll continue to play along. I enjoy old LEO guns since I’m an old LEO. This one is a DAO 15-3 shipped to the Los Angeles Police Department and carried by a Sergeant that is the brother of a forum member larry21556. It has John Hurst grips that came from the estate of a former sheriff. It’s a special one. Enjoy.

The 15-3 has a heavy barrel with a ejector shroud? Custom ordered I guess. Very nice.
