m-1911 nice guns, very nice pre 27, I remember it on Auction Arms a couple of weeks ago. I considered bidding on it myself but I didn't particularly like the seller's photos and he didn't answer an email that I had sent him so I took a pass. Looks like you got a good deal…

I was suspicious from the bad photos that it may have been re blued but it is all original and a very early gun to have a red insert front sight. I checked with Roy Jinks and the red insert was first listed in a 1952 S&W catalog
I am not sure if I will get a letter on the gun or not
