A Couple of Quigley Engraved SAA Colts

Many thanks to everyone for the nice comments, I truly enjoy doing this for clients. I realize that some clients simply can not understand the time frames required to do this work and I am sorry, but it can take time. Please remember that an Engraver that sends it back in 30 days is not doing the client justice and doing the best possible work. The best work ever done in history was done by engravers and makers to the royal courts in Europe, where the Engraver was paid a living by the court. The engraver did not have to struggle to " make a living". Phil

Those are unbelievable. That may actually be the most attractive handguns I've seen.

Updating this thread with the Glenn Dean custom case crafted just for these two beauties...

Richard had posted a couple of images of these Colts in a thread on pairs (search for: "Post your Pairs" in the Hand Ejectors 1896-1961 forum, It is a thread worth revisiting).

The images you've posted here Richard really show off the magic of the engraving. The artful combination of the restrained gold line inlay, and the frame case colour, with the engraving is just remarkable.

With both revolvers in their case, and the "warmer" lighting that gives, it near makes them light up and sing. Great images.

I've seen a lot of fine firearms, mostly English shotguns and double rifles, but not such a remarkable visual combination as this. It is simply breathtaking.
