A COVID-19 musing

Last and only time I had a flu shot was in 1975 when I was 19. Two weeks later, I had the flu and it was horrible. I missed one solid week of school, felt "OK", went back, and on the first day the professor watched me deteriorate over 90 minutes and finally asked if I was OK, and I said, "I feel worse than I did week ago!". I just went home and suffered another week. I dropped the class (calculus) I didn't actually feel 100% for over a month. Since then, I've avoided the flu shots, and only had one bought of what was even possibly the flu since, and it wasn't that bad. My insurance will pay for the flu shot, but I chicken out every time. A friend's reaction to it last year, a sore shoulder for months, and basically seeming to get the flu anyway, isn't helping my being afraid to take it.
