Stopped for a bite on the road in France, and had to negotiate a new system of service at McDonald's. There were the touchscreen self service stations that I've avoided in the past, but at this location there were no human order takers, nor menus over the counter. Just a cash register for cash paying customers.

Enter the number of the table placard from the stack at the selfserv kiosk, sit at your table, and your order is brought to you.

I'm not a picky eater at all but I can't stomach much of the items at McDonalds any more. Their fries are pretty good but thats about it. I actually use the credit card Kiosks all the time at Panera Bread and then carry their pager to the table with no human interaction at all until they deliver my food. It's a lot faster and less frustrating then standing in line.

Most every Mickey D's down here in the sand flats has those. Very simple. They still have a traditional order system with usually one cashier, and you have to see them to pay cash, or if you just don't want to use the touch screen. Touch screens usually vacant, half a dozen people in line to order from the person. I usually have my food before the last person that walked in before me has even ordered . . .

Curious if the McD's food is the same as here?

Do they use Romaine' lettuce on the Big Macs?

Last time I was at McDonnalds I noticed the box my sandwich came in had a logo that said "Made with Recycled Material". My mind went crazy thinking of what they recycled to make that box that held my food. Have not been there since.

I am used to recycled packaging, but about 3 weeks ago I ate at a Micky D's for the first time in years. It tasted like my Big Mac and Diet Coke were what was recycled!

McD I usually pass by has a pretty good grilled chicken sandwich but I've stopped eating there because of the extremely bad, uncaring service.

Then you’re really gonna be unhappy when I point out that the napkins you wiped your mouth with were also made of recycled material . . .

I went into the local McDonalds here last year an they told me I had to order using the kiosk, I told them no I didn't - left and ate somewhere else.

I find it funny that I refuse to order at a McDonalds using their kiosk yet I only use the self checkout at the grocery stores.

I avoid the "touch screens" like the plague. No different then "self check out" in the grocery store. If you are too lazy to take my order then you don't want my money bad enough. When directed to those things I tell that to the manager and most times they say "OK" and ignore me until I leave as the irrelevant fossil that I am, but sometimes they smile and take my order.
