Here's a few on my custom EDC knives, a couple from smaller makers. Forged to shape from 1095 high carbon steel. The blade is 2 7/8" long, 1/8" thick, 15/16" tall. Differentially hardened with an edge quench, Acid etched to reveal the temper line, Flat ground with a convex edge, Spine is squared near the tip and rounded near the handle. The handle is 3 7/8" long with Brass pins and White liners. American walnut bolster with Australian Ironwood scales. This is one he made a couple of mistakes on so it was pretty cheap but feels good and is razor sharp.
The first is from RWFred out of California.

This next one is a Puukko made by Michael Presnell out on N.C.
I love the feel of this one in the hand. 52100 steel, 1/8th thickness. Convex grind. Leather stacked handle.

The next is a AA Forge EDC. 52100 steel. Convex grind.

I agree, the leather stacked is a nice looking knife. They all are nice, but that's my favorite among them.

For pocket carry I like a Buck #285 folder with 3" blade, not serrated, stays pretty sharp, thumb studs for easy open one handed. Locks open, easy to unlock for closing. The little brother #284 is smaller but good too.

Along with a SAK, the Christy sliding blade with my car keys, one or those others is always with me, too.
