A good glass of scotch and a cuban cigar

just had lunch and all this talk of alcoholic beverages and cigars have had a effect. think I will have some woodford reserve and a partagas p2. made in an offshore island south of florida.

OP, I'd love to have Elk on a semi-regular basis! It's pretty expensive 'round these parts.

On the 4th, the wife and I cooked out for friends and family. Country style ribs (pork, cold smoked for a few hours, then homemade sauce), Beef tenderloin, all sorts of good stuff. The most popular food on the grill...hamburgers! Completely surprised me. Here we wanted to do something special for the guests and everyone loved the burgers!

Some of these posts paint some pretty vivid pictures for me...& my tummy! Never smoked cigars, but I use to smoke Nat Sherman's cigarettes back in the day. They were good cigs, no additives to make them burn fast or even. In fact, just like other smokes I remember(wink wink!), if you didn't puff on them they would go out. You could relight them & the flavor would be just as good since they were chemical free. You had to go to a tobacconist to get them, & they weren't cheap. Back in '91, when I quit, a box of twenty was $2.97. I wonder what they cost now. Yes, a good smoke after a good meal was something to be treasured. And add some fine scotch? Heaven!:D

Often they are resold

Aren't Cuban cigars illegal?

There are ways to get around the law. Like getting rebanded Cuban cigars from another country. Think prohibition. I think the prohibition on Cuban cigars is about the most stupid prohibition I can think of but I guess it will take Castro's death to have it repealed. Which means none of us will ever have a legal Cuban cigar because Castro is going to outlive all of us.

ATF.. works every time..:D
