The Cow skunked me this evening - because I was lazy!

Just broiled the Aldi steaks and they are Very good for grocery store steaks, way better than Publix. Was in Savannah today to meet granddaughter for lunch but no cooler so could not pick up some real steaks, maybe next time..

"I opened up the package that my wife defrosted earlier"

I am shocked I tell ya!
You froze the steaks??
Never freeze steak. it will be fine in the Fridge for several days

Turn in your Chef card.:)

(So you are the guy standing at the meat case deciding what to get)

Ever been to Berns Steak House?

I agree that fresh steaks are better than frozen ones however that doesn't always work in our home! We have guests here lots of times and it is always good to have something to BBQ in just 4-5 hours and not have to go out shopping. Some of the best times we have ever had have been impromptu. When we KNOW we are having a BBQ or big party - yes, I will go out to Costco and buy however many steaks we need and a few extra. The extra's then get frozen. When having people over it is not uncommon for them to ask if they can bring their son or daughter or both is they are staying at their home. Sometimes kids just fly down at the last moment and we are able to accommodate them without skimping. My kids have done the same and once in a while they just surprise us by showing up - love that!

I have a well stocked home with everything from batteries, paper goods, booze, cigars, food, vegetables, fruit etc. We are always prepared. Yes ammo too. ;) But yes - nothing a better than fresh cut!

When I want a really good steak I call me son and say what night would you like to grill and have your parents over lol. He has a meat butcher who will make the beef cuts to request if we call ahead. I buy He cooks. ,My son is a grill master he musta learned from his mom cause i sure as hell had nothing to do with it. She won't let me near a grill other then burgers or brats. And her kitchen is her kingdom all who enter beware. Did I mention she taught Home economics at local high school for 35+ years. Never correct a teacher is my motto.
