A very neat revolver for sure. It is all the more neat because at current time Hamilton has stopped taking any new Smith conversion work. I am lucky to have several with my most recent soon to be returning to me{hope it is not the last}. All my very best, Joe.
That is one of my favorites and I love it every time you show it off (but then again, I seem to say that for almost every gun you post). I too love the Sandersons on it!!! Can you please post a close up of the front sight and remind me of the story?
You have one of the nicest collections out there and I very much apprecaiate your willingness to share it with the rest of us in your outstanding photos. You truly set the gold standard.
This revolver was one of three sent to Hamilton Bowen quite a few years ago by the well known collector, Bill Powell (now deceased). The revolvers were sold as part of Bill's estate liquidation. The long range front sight is an added bonus.
I feel very fortunate to have two Smith & Wessons worked over by Hamilton before he stopped the Smith & Wesson work. Both are based on model 58s and one I have shown before which now is a 45 Colt wit a 5" barrel and Keith Brown Roper style stocks and the other is a 58 that is the first client done with his combat J frame style sights. It wears exhibition walnuts by Roy Fishpaw and I gave it to a very dear friend of mine in Kansas.
Well shown, Doc44. I pressed the "Like" button because there is none for "Adore" or "Love" or "Lust After." Other folks have their Grail Guns or their Bucket List, and yours is one we would all be happy to acquire, but you have my "Grail Grips" as well. I dream at night about a set of Sandersons like those. Congrats!
