A Humpback with Bananas.

That gun just yells "ouch" to me.... :)

Shooting full zoot .357 mag loads would be for experimentation, not target shooting.....

Cool revolver, it does look great.... but I'd want to put the largest size rubber grips on it before touching off a .357 round....

I remember in the 80s my LGS had many sets of bananas on a rack for like $20/set. Wish now I’d have bought them out.

I do like the looks and feel of those S&W Banana grips. Only you will know if you like them or not on that short barrel .357 Magnum.

Like ACORN said, I wish I’d bought a bunch of the Banana grips back in the day.

It somewhat negates the compact advantage of a J-frame gun when putting larger stocks on it. Why not just get a K-frame gun instead?

I have a 649-3 with Crimson Trace green laser, makes shooting .357 quite comfortable. I also put a big dot sight on it for non laser shooting. It rides in a Kangaroo Carry holster when I carry it. I really like it!

My EDC looks like a 649, but is a 60's 49 no dash that was "Metal Life" refinished before I got it. Mine had worn smooth Pac on it when I bought it and put "Bananas" on within two hours! Metal Life is a type of Teflon finish that came in many colors. My gun has some of the interior refinished also. With a full power main spring it is so smooth, you think the spring is cut!

Back in the ancient times of the 50's & 60's criminals weren't as tuff, as the J-frames of that era were only 38 Special. And from post WWI to the 50's you only needed a I-Frame in 32 S&W Long or 38 S&W (Regulation Police/Model 35) to ward off the evil minions! The 357's of that earlier era were for bear hunting! My how thugs have changed!

Really like the bananas. They work well for appendix carry. Very comfortable.

On a nickel 442 (no dash)

I thought this post was going to be about a gorilla sighting.

Hey! Let's not offend any moderators! :D

Those banana grips are cute but they're more practical on a concealability level than a comfortable shooting level but to each his own, yes? Classic YMMV situation.

649-1 with the correct stocks and relatively easy to shoot:
