A Little Christmas Cheer, Small Frame 22s

Christmas Cheer Indeed!!!

I love that round butt, diamond magna's, flat latch looks like a Model 34 in the OP's pic, 2nd in from upper right.

My own Christmas story started as an absolute disaster! For years we have had a Model 34 in the accumulation of guns in this house. Enjoyed by wife, sons, daughters and even grandkids. As they all grew more competent, and interests moved to larger calibers, semi's, longer barrels, etc., the 34-1 appeared (to me) to no longer have the appeal and therefore I sold it here on the Forum a few months back when thinning the herd.

Wouldn't you know it! Day after Thanksgiving...wife says "Where is MY Model 34...you know...the little Kit Gun..did one of the kids borrow it for plinking today????"

Well........long story short...I fessed up, took some (I guess deserved) severe flack..and immediately thought Oh-OH what now.

The S&W saints were evidently looking down on me because lo and behold...walked into a local pawn shop on a whim 3 weeks ago and there was a Model 34-1, round butt. I usually haggle but in this case I made only 1 attempt saying "how about a veteran or senior service discount, or even a cash discount?"

Owner says you really want it bad? I told him the sad tale of selling wife's gun. He just laughed, gave me a decent discount for OTD cash and HOPEFULLY when she opens it up later this morning, or early afternoon...ALL will be right with the World.

A very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

Well Charlie, I do like a story with a happy ending. The little 4" Kit in my picture that you mentioned was shipped October 1954. It's hard to pick a favorite, and there is one more down stairs some where that didn't make the photo shoot.

I have a 2" 34-1. Took a while to learn to hit things with it and I love it. My son has a 4" 63 and had it for 40 years now and would never part with it. These are fantastic guns.

This was purchased about thirty years ago to teach the kids but yeah I shoot it also.
