a little help with model Identity

looking at what I think is a WW2 .38 special revolver. it has the lanyard ring on the bottom of the frame as well as a stamped W mark and V with s/n# 6668xx
also on the back strap is a series of letters pictured below. sorry this is the only picture I was able to get.

It is likely a .38 British Service Revolver from WWII that was given to a German municipal police division after the war. The stamp indicates what municipality or agency. I believe WB refers to the state of Baden-Württemberg, Stadtkreis (S) translates to urban district; and PFOR is the city of Pforzheim. Someone more familiar with the guns of the German Police may give you more information. The grips are nice but are not original and it appears to have been refinished.

Those appear to be genuine stag grips - might be worth as much as the gun itself.
He was claiming that it's an OSS victory model. I guess he was half right.
Based on the "W" on the butt, it might've been intended for OSS use. And some of those guns did go to the German polizei in the immediate postwar period.
