A little horse trading with my buddy

My best buddy and I often do a little trading back and forth. In our latest swap, I ended up with a nice Colt Delta Elite (1989) with the following:

Dovetailed for Novak sights
Ed Brown hammer and ignition parts
Wilson arched MSH
Esmeralda gaboon ebony grips, which were mine from a previous deal.
Smith & Alexander grip safety
Cylinder and Slide series 80 parts
Barsto 40 S&W and 10mm barrels (fit by Barsto)
3 Colt 10mm mags
4 Colt 40 S&W mags

Back in 2010 when the 116610LV (Hulk)debuted, I had a hard time getting my hands on one. Now they are plentiful on the secondary market, but the prices are crazy.

I returned to him a LNIB 2" 63 with a spare 2" barrel and a couple sets of grips that I swapped something else for a few months ago. I still owe him a little something on the back end, which is yet to be determined. I know he's looking for 39XX mags, holsters.

Edit: Bought him a bunch of ammo he wanted.

As an aside, I have a similar friend.
We've both owned the same Ithaca 37 at least 3 times each.
It always seems to be the one that "rounds out" whatever we're trading.

While I am a huge 1911 fan, not a huge Colt fan…. I have owned several Delta Elites and still do own a SS one. They are a good 1911

You now have a very fun gun!!

Yeah, there are much better 1911s out there than the Colt. I think DW is still the best 1911 for the $. The one Colt I regret selling is my Delta Elite Gold Cup National Match.

I did the same Saturday. Got back in trade from a buddy a Browning Hi-Power Silver Chrome and a 2 3/4" blued Ruger Security Six with a Tyler and some lovely faux aged ivory grips. He got a Ruger flattop .357 and a NIB blued Security Six.
