A Model 25-7 cut to 3 1/2 Finished , 10-11-12.

Very nice. With the unfluted cylinder and bead-blast finish (2nd getting it re-done), that thing looks all business.

You did a nice job on the gun. What did you use to blue the bbl? Larry

Larry , believe it or not , after extensive polishing with a knife
stain eraser stick , I used Birchwood Casey Perma Blue Paste Gun Blue.

I merely applied a layer with a rag then polished it with steel wool , '

then another layer , then another , and so on ,,,,

Good job.

I see what appears to be a hole on the front sight base that was not there in the original pics. Did you drill it and screw it down in addition to the silver solder?

What did you do for the crown? I have a couple of rifle barrels that I'd like to shorten if I can do it without spending a lot of money.

Hi , Dave .

Good eyes , I attempted to drill a hole to use a set screw OR roll pin
to secure the front sight. But unfortunately began the hole a tad off center.

If I should have a problem with the front sight in the future
I will enlarge the hole and probably use an ALLEN head cap screw
to hold the front sight down to the barrel.

As far as the crown on the muzzle goes . Believe it or not I use a
cutter on a De Walt 14 volt hand drill then polish it using crocus cloth
pushed into the crown using the same cutter as the pilot.

Maybe I will post some pictures of the process a bit later in this
thread.

I had a friend educate me a while back that cutting and
crowning a barrel is not rocket science.

All one need do is cut , crown , shoot , and experiment.

IF it shoots ,, leave it alone. It's done. :) .
