A mutant coronavirus has emerged, even more contagious than the original, study says

In all of history has there ever been a disease where they locked down healthy people?

Seems logical to do that with the people that are sick.

The problem is that many people who are infectious to others show absolutely no symptoms themselves. A recent study in Boston among 402 people living in a congregate setting showed that 36% were positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, but none of them had any symptoms, including fever. Other studies have shown that the percentage of people with the virus who show no symptoms ranges from 14% to 80%. Both Forbes and Fox News have reported these studies.

The only way to prevent the spread in the absence of an effective vaccine is to deny the virus access to new hosts, and the only way to do that is through lock-downs and social distancing. If you think what we have been through up to now has been awful, wait for the second wave that will hit us later this summer and in the fall. I wish it weren't true, but it is.

Can you believe that there is still NO vaccine for cancer, people are going to die from this and it keeps mutating into so many forms.......

This is really serious, we need to put everyone in bio-chem hazmat suits right NOW!! We could save so much on not having to buy masks, gloves or TP....... Think of the children......we also need to have a 30 foot social distancing law.

With plexiglass everywhere, I should have bought plexiglass stock when I could...same with the tape on the floor so that they can tell how far 30 feet is!

Sarcasm intended!!

Compared the the "Murder Hornets" who's sting melts flesh, sucking for air sounds pleasant. Live. Right now there are 2 angry pit bulls in the neighborhood attacking at will. At least I can dispose of that threat tidily. Joe

My county claims 142 confirmed cases, and 4 deaths.

Monday they opened up the parks, and most restaurants as long as they limited the amount of people inside. Parking lot at Outback Steakhouse was pretty full.

Went to Home Depot today, and it was back to normal. No lines and all the doors were open.

If what people are saying is true, Our numbers should more than double in the next week.

I'm thinking they won't. Just my opinion.

Just heading to the store...

Yet another reason why widespread and continuous testing, tracking, quarantine, continued lock-downs, and social distancing are so important. In the absence of an effective vaccine, these public health measures, despite their unpopularity, are the only defense we can rely on.

Good Lord, not only are these measures unpopular they are mostly unconstitutional. Those who support continued widespread lock-downs obviously do not understand basic economics. Even those who think they are on a safe fixed income will find out how unsafe and unfixed that income is when the government runs out of money because working people aren't working and paying taxes. The United States is less than 12 months away from becoming a economic third world country. Yes, I'm willing to allow another hundred thousand die from COVID-19 to prevent an economic meltdown with potentially millions starving to death.

Kind of like taking guns away from law abiding citizens.
