I've got two .22s. One is a conversion unit on my Sig 226 and the other is a S&W 422.

So I was sort listening to some swing music and scanning the Simpsons web site looking for an affordable-to-me P88 (there aren't any) when I saw a whole bunch of Manurhin PP .22s listed.

Which got me thinking about another .22, maybe a Walther .22 to join my P99AS, PPQ, P1, P4 and P5.

Then I got confused.

Wonder if someone could do a primer on Walther .22s. The PPQ seems to make the most sense as it would be in the family for my other Walthers. Plus it gets solid reviews

The p22 seems not to have an enthusiastic following....or I'm just seeing too many so so reviews. Is it a real Ulm gun or Umarex?

And the Manurhin PP seems to get good reviews, classic form, they are, for the most part, C&R so no FFL fee and no state tax here in WA state, and would compliment my P1 and P4..

So I'm wondering what folks like and why?

If you search this Board there is a whole thread on Walter PP,PPK and PPK/S.

As to the older guns, I have had several in .22 and still have a one PP left. A good shooter but no "target" pistol.

It is well worth having one of the older guns in your collection.

How much did they want for the PP?

Bob

I have a P22 Military, not recommended. The barrel is not pinned to the frame, and the threading system is weak.
I have been told the newest models are improved.
The Umarex guns similar to other guns, including the SWaMPy are not DA, they use a manual safety.
IMHO get a .22 LR pistol designed for .22LR.

Who has a Ruger SP-101 and Ruger Mk. II in .22LR as well.

If you want a .22 and are in a Walther frame of mind, take a look at the Walther Umarex PPK/S .22. I have one and its a good little pistol. Although it does have a marked preference for the high velocity ammo. You can a find a nice used one for around $250-300.

I recently traded for a Beretta 70s which I like a lot.
So I bought a new Walther PPK/S.
The Walther does prefer high end ammo, but do do I!
My only downgrade on the Walther is it has a really heavy double action trigger pull.
Here's the Walther and the Beretta hanging with a 63.
