Well, I made the mistake of walking into my LGS to arrange for a Gunbroker transfer, when one of the guys said "You have to see this!" At that point he hands me a S&W M&P Shield 9mm High-Viz model. I am not a whistles and bells kinda guy, and like KISS pistols...but I really like those High-Viz sights!

Well, I put it in 10 day Commiefornia jail, and found a home for my standard model shield.

I will keep you posted.

Update: I do love my Glock 19, and love the 6906. The problem is that after a year and a half (actually 3 1/2 years since I got my first Shield), 95% of the time I grab the 9mm Shield (with 8 round mag) as EDC weapon. It is lighter, handier, and more concealable than either of the others. It is more accurate than the Glock and at least as accurate as the 6906.

I live is a rural, mountain area, and if I go into urban areas I generally grab the Glock 19 instead of the Shield (or 6906). BTW, The 19 weighs the same as the 6906, has smoother surfaces than the e6906 for IWB, and carries 3 (or 5) more rounds for the same weight.

Most of the time that I wear the Shield, I literally forget I am wearing it, especially in a Milt Sparks Summer Special style IWB holster.

I still do love the 6906, but after the flush of newness wore off, I seldom if ever, take it from the safe.

Shields are great, I'm thinking I need a second one.
Instead of trading for a new gun, you could have just put the Hi Viz sights on the Shield you already had, right ?
Mine came with the Hi-Viz fiber optics as it is a Performance Center model, and while they were nice, I took them off and put on Tru-Glo Tritium/Fiber Optics. $76 shipped from Amazon.
They are bright both day and night.

So the Tritium sights work well for you day time ? And early evenings ?
Been thinking of upgrading sights for my older eyes lol

The fiber optic are very easy to see in daylight, and the Tritium makes the sights bright at night, but not too bright.
Early evening might be when the sights are less than bright, as there's not much light left for the fiber optic, and it's not quite dark enough yet for the Tritium.

But the best of both worlds. I am getting another Shield today , a .45, and it will also get the Tru-Glo TFO's pit on it.
$76 shipped is great for straight Tritium sights, most of them go for $100 a set or more.
The fact that these are also Fiber Optic sweetens the deal.
