I know some of you have been taking advantage of CrazyPhil’s ad in the Classifieds reducing his collection. I did too and received this Thad Rybka holster from him. I had to pull out a Chic Gaylord and a Seventrees holster to mark the similarities and differences and thought you all might enjoy seeing them.
The most apparent difference is the closed vs. open toes. The Rybka holster has a thin full sewn welt with a single row of stitching, both the Gaylord and Seventrees holsters have no welts and double stitching. Rybka copies the Seventrees front sight tunnel. The differences and similarities in construction are plain to see.
Thad Rybka’s holster is dated 2014, the Gaylord and Paris Theodore made holsters date back to the 1950’s, ‘60’s or ‘70’s. All three fit a 4” K frame revolver. The Gaylord is unmarked, a common occurrence.
