A few months ago I kept everyone abreast about the 3 year old daughter of one of our local law enforcement officers. She had been diagnosed with a brain tumor that came back malignant. She had gone through surgery, chemotherapy, physical therapy and then radiation. During her surgery the doctors had not been able to get all of the tumor because it was wrapped around her spinal chord. However, divine intervention intervened, and she suffered a stroke during the surgery that subsequently wound up cutting off the blood supply to the remaining part of the tumor and killing it. Unfortunately the stroke caused a lot of other damage as well robbing her of her mobility, her speech, and much of her personality. More a less she was a three year old new born. She has had to start over, and climb mountains. Well, friends, she is still climbing, and still fighting. My apologies for not updating, but things kinda turned from being so urgent to just a slow grind. Here down below, I have an update posted by her Mother as she wrote it. Please keep your prayers going for little EB. Thanks.

Well, EB started out with 30 radiation treatments. As of right now, she has 5 left! She has been a real trooper through this. She has made it without having to take any steroids or have any problems with her blood. She can make it 5 more days. She loves seeing the Hand In Paw dogs (and their mommas and daddys) every day. She has lost the hair on the back of her head, but that will either grow back or her hair can grow to cover it up. She is more tired everyday after her treatments, but she never complains. She is also making progress in her recovery from the stroke. She says several words and she can sit up by herself now, drink from a cup, eat (but she doesn't have much of an appetite), and even stand with just a little help! I have every confidence in her that she will be walking before too much longer and with God's help, she will recover fully. Thank you for all the prayers and support! Please continue to Pray for EB!

Every time I think of her I say a little prayer because I know she has a long way to go. But it's good to hear she is doing as good as she is. Thanks for the update.

Still saying a prayer every morning and every night for EB. I do believe that God is listening. I will continue. Thank you for the update, it is great to hear that she is still fighting, and healing. Thank you.

Another update on EB. Things are looking up for the little gal. Here is the update her mother put out today. Thanks for thoughts and prayers everyone.

EB went to Clinic 8 and Dr. Friedman today. Blood work was fine. Last week he thought she was anemic and might need blood, but it was fine today. She got a Purple Heart Bead of Courage to signal an end to her chemo and radiation. They all sang a song to her and gave her a cake. EB then decided she would not wait for a fork and stu...ck her fingers into it! It looked like a baby on their first birthday. What a great sight!!!! Now we have to keep going to therapy - speech, occupational and physical - to get EB back to where she now wants to be. We will have an MRI on June 30th. PLEASE pray this comes back fine. Then we will have MRIs every 3 months to make sure all is well. Thank you for all your support and please continue to Pray for EB!!!!!

I'm a sucker for stories where kids battle tough odds and stay ahead of the curve. Good for EB. Keep going, kid. I am absolutely on your side.

Over 55 years ago my 6-year-old brother did not make it through a series of surgeries and a course of treatments for a brain tumor. I am still angry about it. The sense of gratitude and just simple rightness that one feels for a child's survival is a far better feeling.
