The M15-4, 4 inch Combat Masterpiece, SN 95K9257, is the first handgun I purchased. I bought it from M&I Sporting Goods in Rancho Cucamonga, CA, on September 21, 1981 for the princely sum of $219.95 which was a lot of money for me back then. It remained my only handgun for many years and, if I needed to make one shot with a handgun, I would choose this one. Interestingly, the stocks are stamped 6482 on the right panel. They have silver washers and are original to the gun.
Several years ago, I became interested in adding a 2" version of the Combat Masterpiece and recently found this 15-4, SN 98K4914, at a Cabela's in West Virginia. These stocks are stamped 26961 on the right panel and have black washers. I don't think they are original.
"Everything you need and nothing you don't". These may be the ones I hold until the very end.
Enjoy the pictures.

Very Nice OP!

I have said this many times before, the Model 15 is one of S&W's finest efforts. I gave a birthyear 15-3 to #1 son, and a nice 15-3 to # 2 son.. I still have a fine example of a 15-2 and a 15-3-2". The stainless M67 is nice too

Very nice! I’ve got a 67-ND 4 inch and a 15-4 2 inch. The 67 was an impulse purchase at a local store. The 2 inch 15 came from the EE on this board and is an anniversary present from my lovely wife.

I shoot the 67 probably the best of any centerfire handgun I own.
