A pawn shop rescue over a year in the making....

I infrequently visit an urban pawn shop that ,shall we say, doesn't cater to the collector crowd.

This one has been on the shelf for at least a year @ $179.99. I did almost buy it about 6 months ago .However, I was running late for an appointment and had to leave.

I made another trip there today and lo and behold to no one's surprise , it was still in the same spot I left it that many months ago.

$150 cash brought it home. It's a 1913 vintage Colt Pocket Positive .32 w/ traces on the fire blue still on the trigger and it locks up as tight as a brand new one.

Nice find!!! Is it in 32 Long Colt or 32 New Police (32 S&W Long)?

The New Police loads can be duplicated with S&W long brass and a 117 grain RNFP 32-20 style bullet, sized .311". Not much you can do for the Colt load. I have a 1919 Police Positive Special in 32-20, and it loves that same projectile!

Yup, I am glad you went back and got it. . .finally! You can never have too many Colts or Smiths, especially for cheap. Plus, you get so much good exercise with all the Flitz and Ren Wax you have to use on them. The grips are likely worth what you paid for the gun.

I gave it a cursory cleaning yesterday afternoon. The bore shines like a mirror!
