Bought a couple guide rods for my S&W 1006, though they also fit the 4506, from user peh_7 who makes them himself. Factory produced guide rods are basically unobtainium from what I've looked into, couldn't find a single one for sale not even an overpriced one.
The guide rods from peh_7 are a little longer, only because of the spring loaded end of the rod that interfaces with the barrel lug which makes no difference in function that I found. If it weren't for that, they would be indistinguishable from factory produced S&W guide rods to me.
