This post fits within the scope of the 2A forum.
We deserve a chance to celebrate.
We do need to remember that it will be a fight that must be fought in perpetuity.
This is NOT an excuse to fade into general political discussion.

We sent a message to D.C. and numerous states that when pushed into a corner regarding gun rights we will fight with everything we have.

There was an article on "Breitbart" listing the pro-gun winners. The link is below. Most of them were backed by the NRA so again be proud of your support of the NRA.

The warning is that this was just one battle in a war that is far from over.Congrats on 2014 but be mindful that 2016 is right around the corner. We have to keep the momentum going and maybe roll back some of the legislation that infringes on the gun rights in a few States.

Here is the link to the numerous winners who might not have been known to be pro-gun candidates.

Too bad to us New Yorker's this means nothing. Still good for everyone else though:D

Other than a couple of notable exceptions (WA ballot initiative, CO governor) it was a very good election for gun owners. Keep up the pressure and always look at how the candidates are rated by or answer the NRA questionnaire before casting your vote.

Colorado won two recall elections against two people that didn't respect the wishes and rights of the people.Granted those two seats were lost again in the 2014 election but the shot was fired across the bow warning elected officials of the consequences.

Your time will come when enough people take the challenge to stand up for their rights. The biggest voice you have is your vote.Believe me when I say that the majority of the Country stands with you.

Recall elections are not allowed in NY. NYC has a stranglehold of the rest of the state. Pipe dreaming is not going to help people in NY. The only vote that will work is voting with their feet.

The anti-gun crowd will never stop demanding more and more restrictions, and we have seen how incremental measures make 2nd Amendment rights a moot point over time when they get their way.

My point is that no matter what successes we have there should never be an assumption of "victory". The fight will never be over, just going onward from one round to the next, each new initiative chipping away a bit at a time.

Over the years I have had many discussions with people leaning toward (or even demanding) gun control laws. What I have found very useful is to ask them to summarize just what laws they want to have and would be satisfied with for a ten-year period with no other changes. Invariably, given a few minutes to consider their positions, they always come up with plans that completely disarm all civilians (exempting only police and military, occasionally private security companies) and criminalize any other possession or uses whatsoever.

It is not difficult to understand why those of us who support 2nd Amendment rights and the right to self-defense must oppose any new gun control legislation. The only difficulty is in demonstrating to well-meaning people why all of the "common sense" measures proposed all lead to the same end.

In every round of the debate there will be calls for compromise and consensus. And in every round of the debate we are starting at the point in the middle, where the last compromise was reached, and asked to make further compromises. Step by step, inch by inch.

As far as the political side of it goes, I suggest that we keep in mind that when you give some people an inch they start thinking they are rulers.

As with all big elections, there were a number of factors that loomed large. The elections were no doubt a referendum on Obama and liberals. It's easy to dislike Pelosi and Reid. The NRA deserves lots of credit too and I continue to support them with a big check every year.

Don't relax too much....just think Hillary who occasionally lets slip her fervent anti-gun attitude. I expect her handlers will try to soft pedal her gun sentiments(remember Kerry crawling in the weeds with his shotgun?).

It's never over!!

PS Don't you love it when a pro-gun woman gets elected?
