my cousin and i went shooting today. I wanted to test out his newly repaired gun.
we shot about 500 rounds of fed bulk, 350 rounds of federal match, 333 winchester bulk.
We had no problems with any jams until we hit the winchester. His 15-22 just would NOT feed them at all. The federal champion (bulk) and federal match went flawlessly. So we knew it was the ammo.
I loaded up a few mags to shoot through the sig first mag went flawlessly. The second mag however, had two rounds that just didnt go off. Had good hits on the casings from the firing pin but apparently they had zero powder in them. I shot out the rest of the box and had many many more that were duds. But besides the duds the sig ate everything.
My analysis the win 333 were junk, (even out of my sig at about 35 yards the accuracy diminished greatly, which i dont care mines just for plinking) the federal bulk did great, and the federal match (40 gr) shot more accurately than the other two out of both rifles. Fun bouncing around shotgun hulls.
ADVANTAGES:
the S&W mags get a huge advantage over my sig mags because of the thumb assist.
TRIGGER: I like the sig trigger better but have no complaints with the factory trigger on the 15-22.
ACCURACY: really about the same at the distance we were shooting, he had a little leapers 4x scope and i was using a red/green dot konus atomic sight.
All in all a very very fun day, we dont get to shoot often together but hopefully that will change for us. he works about 60 hours a week and i work about 52.
