my cousin and i went shooting today. I wanted to test out his newly repaired gun.

we shot about 500 rounds of fed bulk, 350 rounds of federal match, 333 winchester bulk.

We had no problems with any jams until we hit the winchester. His 15-22 just would NOT feed them at all. The federal champion (bulk) and federal match went flawlessly. So we knew it was the ammo.

I loaded up a few mags to shoot through the sig first mag went flawlessly. The second mag however, had two rounds that just didnt go off. Had good hits on the casings from the firing pin but apparently they had zero powder in them. I shot out the rest of the box and had many many more that were duds. But besides the duds the sig ate everything.

My analysis the win 333 were junk, (even out of my sig at about 35 yards the accuracy diminished greatly, which i dont care mines just for plinking) the federal bulk did great, and the federal match (40 gr) shot more accurately than the other two out of both rifles. Fun bouncing around shotgun hulls.

ADVANTAGES:
the S&W mags get a huge advantage over my sig mags because of the thumb assist.

TRIGGER: I like the sig trigger better but have no complaints with the factory trigger on the 15-22.

ACCURACY: really about the same at the distance we were shooting, he had a little leapers 4x scope and i was using a red/green dot konus atomic sight.

All in all a very very fun day, we dont get to shoot often together but hopefully that will change for us. he works about 60 hours a week and i work about 52.

J is right. I had problems with my MP 15-22 jamming with different types of ammo. I have tried almost all 22lr rounds and the best i have found is Federal AutoMatch target grade performance ammo. It is a 40 grain solid bullet round. Muzzle velocity of 1200fps and 1080fps at 50yards. NOT BAD!
325rds for around 15$, but well worth it. Like j said we spent over 1100 rounds at the range today and the auto match Federal was the best in my opinion.

attached is J's sig and my mp 15-22

just glad i finally got to put a real ammo count through em. both of them are awesome.

I hope you don't mind me asking but have you ever tried Winchester's Xpert HV bulk ammo? I thought I'd try a box out today at the shop since I've had good success with Winchester Super-X in the past. Also, I've come around and like the looks of the Sig now haha. When I first saw it, I just wasn't very attracted to it. What I still don't find attractive, though, is that it does not come with iron sights..that's just goofy.

ahh i would have removed them and thrown an optic on it of some kind anyway. i have some Xpert HV in my stockpile but i havent shot them yet. should open them up this coming weekend though. and all my experience is froma sig anyway. ive shot the 15-22 a few times but the only extended experience i got from it was today. besides jamming on the 333 it did great.

i tried the HV rounds in the 15-22 but that was before i sent it off to get the blue springs put in. I have the low serial number M@P. I haven't tried them since the spring job. I couldn't cycle anything before that. I think J has shoot them in his Sig.

Ah, alright. Hopefully it all works well, $20 investment haha.

yeah no kidding. good thing about the sig is that i havent had anything it wouldnt cycle. i shot literally 15 year old remington golden through it the first 4 mags and it ate them all. if warmaker and i shoot this weekend ill let him try some and let you know how it goes.
