I assume that like me, many of you have received a text(s) or email from some toll road authority demanding payment for an unpaid toll, and also like me, just deleted them. However I just received a text from the Texas DMV (it said) saying I had an unpaid traffic ticket, and If I did not pay it immediately by submitting a credit card to some email address, they would cancel my vehicle registration, destroy my credit, and get a warrant for my arrest. Could be believable if I had an unpaid ticket but I don’t. It was sent from a Philippines country code (63). I looked it up, and this scam variation started this year. It is just a way to steal credit card information.

This Urban Legend goes like this -
Some Clever Filipinos stole a Firetruck on Clark AB.
After successfully driving it away from the Fire Station,
They headed for the Front Gate.
High speed, lights flashing, siren screaming.
Through the gate they went, never to be seen again!

Latest scam I am getting is someone tring to blackmail me for "photo/video" of me doing illegal "sexual acts". I am to send $5K in Bitcoin to their designated address. The funny thing is they show me a photo and its my neighbor up the streets yard. I told the Chief...he says it's the new thing going around.

I warned you that I’m not playing. You want me to post those photos here??? :)

The scam text I keep getting is from the Florida Tolls Commission, or some name like that. They keep telling me to click on the link and pay my tollls now or face prosecution.

Never respond to an email or text then the scammer knows there is a real person behind the number and you get put on a different list that is sold to many other scammers on the dark web and continue to get many more emails and texts.

Best to just in block and delete.

The biggest scam I have heard is when you answer a phone call from a scammer, they use your voice and call your family using your phone number and voice to scam them.

What is so sad about these scams is,

They work.

We would not continue to see them if they didn’t. :(
After years of repeated warnings how to tell a scam from legit calls, my MIL was duped into giving out here bank and CC info to a caller who said she was from the bank verifying personal info.
Fortunately she realized what she did, called my wife instead of the bank and my wife was able to have the bank put a freeze on her mother’s accounts. No harm done.
Still, this shows why they keep these scams going.

My elderly cousin received a scam call telling her that her grandson was in jail and she needed to wire bail money. She was all tore up till her husband convinced her that it was a scam.

Besides my delinquent toll charges, lately I’ve been ‘billed’ three times for Anti-virus software renewal.
The scammers seem to be full speed, hard charging, do anything to get your Credit Card info.
Recommend you check your charges online, often.
I pay my CC charges online as soon as they post.
And while on the CC site, I take a Quick Look at the charges.
And lately I’ve received emails from unknown parties sending me ‘pictures.’
Just got one after after I made this post.
Not sure exactly what these folks are up to, better not find out!
Do not open these! Delete!

I've been getting the same scam but from IL Toll Roads. I live in WI. Haven't been close to IL in over five years. Last one got mean and ugly, threatening all sorts of doom and gloom. DELETE, DELETE, DELETE
