When I retired I moved to another state and area code, but kept my cell phone number with the old area code. Since spammers ghost fake numbers when they call you with your area code, I'm relatively safe from answering a call from a spammer. 
If I get a call from my old residence area code and the number is not in my address book, I can ignore it or terminate the incoming call. That saves me a lot of time. But, I so hate those crooks!

?I was hoping the war between India and Pakistan would last longer and maybe some of these scammers would get drafted.

I get the texts about the cloud storage bull**** too. And the toll dues texts, lol. those get report and delete, cause I used to go thru the report these online but it seems like that is a waste of time.
My phone does usually indicate a "spam" call, so lately I have been answering with an old man voice repeating hello hello over and over till they hang up. good times
