As most of the people on this forum now a judge recently said that the CA "high capacity" magazine ban was unconstitutional, and overturned it. He did, however, put a stay on his order effective today (04-05) at 5 p.m. There is a gun show in Fairfield, CA this weekend. It normally runs Sat and Sun, as do most of them. However, they decided to open it on Friday, 12-5, with at least some internet advertising pointing out that on Friday, prior to 5 p.m., you could legally buy "high capacity" (actually standard factory capacity) magazines. I ALMOST drove over there to check it out but 1 1/4 hours, one way, in the rain, did not appeal to me, especially as I bought all the magazines I might need while I was a working peace officer and could do so legally. I wonder what the early attendance will turn out to be.

I read an article in Ammoland.com this morning about California trying to get a judge to put a stay on the unrestricted purchases and shipping of standard capacity magazines to the state. Guess they found one. Hope this will finally make it to SCOTUS. Keep up the pressure ya'll.

The stay includes language that magazines "purchased" prior to 1700 Pacific time could be shipped and would be legal.

No idea how anybody could know for sure but I saw a figure of 3M-4M magazines were shipped to Kalifornistan inside the window... and will now be legal. Additionally, now there is no real way to prove when this or that later model (than Y2K) magazine was purchased.

Heck of a genie has been let loose. :D
