I've been lurking in these message boards since I received my M&P 15-22 for Christmas.

I'm getting really tired of the fact that the voice of women who enjoy shooting seems to be completely silent in the gun control debates. I put together a very short video to clarify my view on the subject. Please take a look at it - comments are welcome.

DISCLAIMER: The comparison of the "his and hers" targets on one of the slides is not fair. My rifle has a scope. My husband's didn't. (However, he liked the video and wholeheartedly approved of the content anyway.)

Very good video! I also happen to have 15-22 and I love it, whether I'm shooting paper or blasting away on the steel plate range the time spent should not be for reloading! ;)

Thank you for taking the time. My wife has the same story. I recently added a .308 big brother to go with the 15-22 and it really makes her smile.

Well, you just have stop making sense.

Seriously, you know as well as I do the women and men that live in the urban areas are bombarded with all the nonsense about no one "needing" a firearm because there are the police to protect them. When you tell them that the police are too busy to help right away you get the old roll of the eyes and the brush off like you're the idiot for wanting to protect your family.

I live close enough to Philadelphia to know that women and men need a way to protect themselves because the Philadelphia police are overwhelmed by drug gangs and shootings. I live far enough away from the urban areas to understand we're on our own out here and it will take some time for the State Trooper that patrols our area at night to get to a 911 call.

It became blatantly clear during the Hurricane Sandy catastrophe that the authorities were in no position to protect you and your family and it was up to individuals to fend for themselves. There was looting and quite the uptick from the regular mayhem that is usual in those areas affected especially in New York. Let's see you find those videos on the news programs they show in those urban areas. I look at those people as victims and will be the ones that can't survive a natural or man made disaster.

I had to help one of my friends from New Jersey in the aftermath and I couldn't secure my vehicle or myself because there's no way to carry a firearm legally in New Jersey and I felt naked and exposed but went ahead and did what needed to be done to help my close friend. I had a large fire extinguisher in the back of my pick up truck with the powder in it that when sprayed can choke and temporarily blind an attacker/s. Lame, but that all we had in a area with no power, no phones and the Police were completely overwhelmed.

No, you are the normal all American Mom and all those others are the misinformed. Thanks for the video.
