I bought a 325 TR a month ago. It came with the "normal" Hogue grips (pixs 1 and 2). As you can see the fit was not great. They did not lay flat at the top and alot of open area where the butt curves. SW send me another set but they fit the same. However they did feel good on the gun.

I then bought a set of Pachmayr Diamond Pro grips (pix 3 and 4). These fit fine and covered the back strap.

However while I was at the LGS shop where I bought the gun, the owner gave me a set of older Pachmayr Grippers (pix 5). These also cover the back strap and have the same thickness as the Hogues.

So I am trying out all three to see what feels the best. So far the older Pachmayr Grippers seem the best. The gun seems to feel better and has a better balance with thinner grips.

Very nice looking firearm. You will have to keep us posted on which grip you decide on including the reports of the multiple range trips needed to help the decision.

Now it is a tale of 4 grips!

So now it is a tale of 4 grips. I am now trying to see what wood grips fit on the 325 TR.

I got a set of Altamont N frame Round to Square Butt grips at a local gun show. I made sure they were really Altamont. I tried to put them on my 325 Thunder Ranch which is a round butt N frame...but they did not fit. There was way too much separation from the frame at the top of the grip. The issue seems to be the thickness of the frame. It seems to be thinner than a "normal" N frame round butt.

Has anyone successfully put set of wood grips on their 325 TR? If so which ones?

Thanks!

OK, I am back to the "standard" Hogue grips that came with the gun. They seem to give me the best grip and position my finger best on the trigger.

I'm glad you posted this. I'm considering buying the Hogue round butt S&W conversion grips, to make my 617-6, feel more like my 627-5. Anybody have any thoughts on this?
