Dear Mr. President,

When you were elected in November, the stores which sell guns, ammunition, powder and primers were stripped bare.

For those of us who reload our ammunition as a hobby for our target practice have found it hard to find our favorite powders.

That is why I am saying "thank you". If we had not had this self-imposed crisis I would have never tried new smokeless powders for my reloading.

In years past I was stuck in a rut; using Unique, Clays and Trail Boss. Now I have been exposed to amazing powders like Bullseye, WST, 231, Herco. Not to mention some great new rifle powders.

Thank you and please don't take away our guns, our rights to carry. If you really want to stimulate the economy you would NEVER try to close the hundreds of companies who manufacture gun related items. A gun grab or ammo tax will only cause to put millions of people in the sporting and hunting industry out of work.

Thank you and Very respectfully.

I guess I should thank President Clinton. I took stock of my reloading supplies yesterday. I have eight lbs of Unique, two lbs of Bullseye, about 10K large pistol and 8K small pistol primers with dates from 1993, '94. and '95 written on the cans and boxes. Remember when they were somehow going to shorten the shelf-life of primers?

I also found price labels of $99.95 on a couple of 500 round cases of UMC .45ACP hardball, $8.95 on some bricks of .22s.

Good old Slick Willie.

What's going to happend when they serialize ammo and make all other ammo illegal ? That will kill all reloading and componets. Sadly, I think it's going to get a lot worse before if it gets better [if at all].
Load 'em up boys while we still can....

I'm new to this forum, but not new to shooting and reloading. I want to thank Obama for pushing more of those sitting on the fence into our lap. The more people we have enjoying the shooting sports, the more noise we can make when he decides it's time to place restrictions on us and our hobby.

Here's my take
Mr President
Don't dare mess with the second Amendment in any way shape or form... You don't have the votes to do it and never will. You'll unleash the biggest backlash to you and your liberal ideas than you can ever imagine. That would be good wouldn't it. Thank goodness for our Republic.

Joe

Don't worry. He'll be so busy trying to put the cities out, anyone 10 miles outside of them will be off the radar. And I think the O/P is entirely correct. Lot's that thought I've got all the time in the world to get around to it, found out different from this. The phrase "the gallows doth wonderfully concentrate the mind" really applies here!

I haven't seen it, but I understand that Georgia Arms in Villa Rica, GA has a large poster of Obama on the wall with the caption "Salesman of the Year" under it.

If the gun ban crowd only knew how they have contributed to the arming of America.

I'm just surprised he started by working on this section of the economy!

Hang on to your hat though, he is most likely going to look at us more closely in the future and not in the same fashion he is now!

Maybe "you ain't seen nothin'yet".

He's well known to be anti gun but his attorney general has already announced a bill to bring back the assault weapon ban and he's only been in office for a month.

I don't personally own any assault type weapons but that's not the point. The second amendment is always chipped away a piece at a time.

He has the whole reloading community scared to death. You can't find a small pistol primer anywhere and if you do it's gone on a heart beat. Same with powders and pistol bullets. The manufacturers simply can not keep up with demand since most people are ordering what ever they can get their hands on even if they won't use it for 10 years. It has certainly put a kink in my being able to purchase reloading supplys. This translates into me not being able to shoot nearly as much as I use to. If the trend does not change it will eventually put me out of the fun of reloading and shooting completely. Either I won't be able to get the components which is what is happening now or I won't be able to buy the finished product as it is getting to expensive to purchase which is also happening now. Gee it was fun while it lasted. Thanks Mr. President. P.S. I voted against you 6 times.

I have to add that I regret not stocking up more earlier. I am suprised though. I hear about all this problem getting primers and I walked into the local Carter's country on monday and picked up 5000 small pistol cci primers off the shelf and another 3000 shotgun primers along with Red dot, Clays and some other powders I wanted.

I guess I was lucky.
