Having a night cap after MNF (Who Dat). Just wanted to make a toast to those who got us into shooting. For me it was my grandfather. He was lawman and would not let take my first shot with his Model 64 until I mastered the Weaver Stance and dry fired for about a week straight. Seemed silly when I was a kid but now at 25 I still use those techniques. Though I hear they are outdated now, he shot those Smiths like a laser beam. I'l stick with 'em!

What does it say about me that my first thought when seeing the thread title was "Rocky Horror Picture Show?":o

Kind of had random shooting encounters throughout my childhood. Folks weren't into guns at all. I was a walking encyclopedia of gun knowlege though. Just didn't own any guns. :(

Then the military.

Then 2008. Got back into guns. I know I can recall why if ya give me a minute...

HA...I never really got into that movie. I used to be encyclopedic about guns. Then everything turned into a AR/AK and 1911 show. Got burned out but now I am back. And I can guess, it should change in about 18 hours!

My father died when I was very small and I lived a long way from my grandfather so I didn't have the family to teach me. But I did have a neighbor who became a sort of grandfather figure to me and he got me interested in shooting at an early age and I've never looked back.
