A triple lock?

I had few expectations of ever getting one. It was not a common sight in Europe. But still had one hope. One of the 1914 WWI British Service might surface. So I kept looking.

And finally. One popped up in Germany. And... I got it

It will take it's sweet time to be in my hands. And it is not definetely NIB, since it went through a gruesome four year war, but it is my triplelock. Better than no triplelock at all.

I wonder if all the side plate screws were replaced ?

"Perfect" meaning you can take it out and enjoy shooting it, hopefully with some nice cast bullet handloads!

455's are fun to shoot- minimal recoil. Fiocci MkII ammo is pretty mediocre though. I don't know the situation in Europe, but if you can find the longer MkI brass, the gun will chamber it and IMO you'll get full accuracy out of the gun.

I got ammo for it. Got a .455 Webley Mk VI too.

Not in Portugal at least. Mostly because altering a gun caliber is a big no no around here.

My refinished (Parkerized) 5" .44 Special TL is an extremely accurate revolver.

I felt the same, I'd never own one, then this one came available for right at $1000, a couple of years ago.

I suppose I'm obligated to share mine? Has been cruelly nickel plated and treated poorly. I think it was owned by a prominent Louisiana sheriff and politician who had it engraved with this name: B. W. Bailey.

I keep meaning to send for a letter, but haven't yet.

The revolver was lettered. And... surprize! There is a cherry on top of the cake.

Portuguese Luger M909 by DWM and Mauser C96 from 1910

Also another C96 from 1911

From 1912.

Luger P.08 made by the Erfurt arsenal in 1912.

All these are older than the triple lock.

Worth looking for- they're excellent shooters. IMO the best S&W has ever made.
